SERVICES
  • Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the application of digital pressure to tense muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. For example, a trigger point in the middle trapezius can often refer pain into the unilateral temporal region.
  • Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in the muscle. These areas of strain are called tender or trigger points and are the cause of muscular pain symptoms. NMT can help ease and decrease the frequency of neuromuscular phenomena such as headaches and even issues such as thoracic outlet syndrome and sciatica.
  • Structural Integration
Structural Integration is the story of muscles, bones, and joints as they are involved in the science of movement. When an individual has a posture that is often compromising their alignment on a daily basis, that posture can begin to cause many structural and neuromuscular issues that can be corrected by massage.
  • Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.
  • Scar Tissue Release
A scar from a childhood accident or even a major surgery can have a lifelong effect both physically and mentally. Scar tissue has the potential to spread in any direction including internally throughout the body. It can also restrict movement or function anywhere in the body from a joint to an organ. Scar tissue release yields powerful results that can prevent a lifetime of compensation, complications and pain. It can also help to restore the quality of life that many people who suffer chronically are longing to attain.
  • Post-traumatic Rehabilitation
Post-traumatic rehabilitation is therapy that is administered after an injury to assist in the healing process. With this therapy we try to limit the amount of adhesions that develop and keep the muscles firing and the joints moving the way that they should. This therapy can also aid in keeping the tension from disrupting the nerves as well.
  • Injury Rehabilitation Massage
Injury rehabilitation massage is also known as remedial massage. Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management.
  • Clinical Massage (Medical/Therapeutic Massage)
Clinical massage is a combination of therapeutic massage techniques and medical massage techniques to help facilitate positive changes in the soft tissues. Medical massage is an outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s). The patient presents with a diagnosis and treatments are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.
  • Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity, maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.
  • Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). It is a type of massage which reaches structures far beneath the superficial fascia to attempt to relieve chronic muscle problems or injuries.
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of massage based on preliminary evidence which is hypothesized to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. It can help to decrease recovery time after physical labor.
  • Myofascial Release
Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Myofascial release can help to manage pain, discomfort, and muscular tension that is often created by the tension in the fascia.
  • Russian Massage
Russian massage is a fast-paced massage that can systemically increase circulation, decrease tension, and, coupled with healthy eating habits, can ultimately help someone with their weight-loss goals! Fast paced movements following the lymphatic system's flow can help weight-loss dramatically as it can help increase your metabolism. Call to learn more about this life-changing technique.
  • Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage can help dramatically improve the way you feel throughout your pregnancy. Different stages of pregnancy require different levels of care, but we can help with many of the discomforts and pains that pregnancy can cause. Call today for more information.
  • Hot Stone Therapy
Hot stone therapy is a wonderful option that can dramatically improve results following your massage session. The heat from the stones increases circulation, and combined with therapeutic massage it can even help with fibromyalgia and chronic pains. Also, besides the therapeutic benefits, the heat feels wonderful.
  • CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a subtle approach that helps relieve pain, dysfunction, and helps to promote health and performance systemically. Using a gentle touch, we relieve restrictions surrounding the central nervous system. We do this by manipulating muscles that begin to distort and contort the brain and spinal cord, which otherwise will begin to challenge the proper function of the central nervous system.
  • I.A.S.T.M.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization has helped many people overcome chronic tension and painful complaints. This is a modern-day evolution of Gua Sha, however it is more targeted to relieve tension and pain. With the use of assistive tools, I.A.S.T.M. initiates a series of controlled microtraumas to the fascia which helps to facilitate localized inflammation while it breaks down myofascial adhesions. Side effects may include more energy and a happier, pain-free lifestyle.
  • Geriatric
Geriatric Massage is any form of massage administered to elderly patients, who often suffer long term deleterious effects of poor nutrition, harsh climate, pollution, accidents, intense physical activity and trauma, as well as emotional and financial crises, all of which impact theimmune system. Geriatric massage is intended to improve circulation, “detoxify”cells and tissues, stimulate lymphatic drainage, soften indurated muscles, improve joint mobility, lower blood pressure and increase energy; it may be used to treat arthritis, hip and other joint problems, myofibrositis, neck and shoulder pain, poor circulation and stiffening of the vertebral column.
  • Oncology
Oncology Massage is an assistive therapy designed for people with cancer histories, in cancer treatment, those who have had lymph nodes removed or radiated, as well as those in the final stages of life. Oncology massage complements standard cancer therapies with the potential to reduce side effects resulting from radiation, chemotherapy and surgery. It also provides an opportunity to calm the stress, fear and anxiety associated with a cancer diagnosis. Clients have shared that it has helped them tolerate their treatments better.
